TBQH, HN remains a vital source of information distribution, but a significant portion of its commenters are part of the problem. There’s a reason why a substantial portion of programmers that I like and respect refuse to read comments/post comments there and just use it for link scans.

That being said, I usually find that there are enough gems in the rough to make reading all the comments worthwhile so I’ll check it out!
